QS Mentoring

QUEERSPACE collective is a nonprofit based in the U.S. bringing support, community, and safety to the coming out and being out journey for the LGBTQ+ community. **Find Your Person** Whether you're figuring out your identity, navigating coming out, or looking for someone who truly gets it — the QS Mentoring App connects LGBTQ+ youth (ages 13–24) with trained, background-checked LGBTQ+ adult mentors (ages 25+) who share their lived experience. Every match is reviewed by QUEERSPACE staff and includes moderation features to keep conversations safe. **For Youth (Ages 13–24)** Being Queer, Trans, or questioning (we welcome you wherever you are in your journey!) can feel isolating, especially if you can’t talk openly with family, friends, or people at school. You don’t have to figure it out alone. Share your preferences for a mentor's identity, background, and language, and we'll find your best matches. Your profile is never public or searchable. What you share stays between you, your mentor, and the QUEERSPACE team. **For Mentors (Ages 25+)** Make a real difference in a young person's life. Apply to become an LGBTQ+ mentor, complete our training program, and get matched with a mentee whose needs align with your experience and availability. No special qualifications are needed. Just a willingness to listen, show up consistently, and see the best in young people. Weekly check-ins keep you connected and supported throughout the journey. **A Space for Everyone** Mentorship not the right fit for you? Anyone can download the QS Mentoring App and join as a guest profile to access our resources section. We hope to support Caregiver and Community Member profiles with future updates to the app. **What's Inside** • **Mentor Matching** — Algorithm-based matching with preferences for identity, language, and topics. Staff-reviewed before every connection. • **Safe Chat** — Real-time messaging, content moderation and emergency resource access built in. • **Resources Directory** — Curated hotlines, organizations, and services filtered by category. Call or visit directly from the app. • **Mentor Training** — Required video training for all mentors. • **Notifications** — Stay on top of match updates, new messages, and weekly check-in reminders. **Privacy by Design** Your information is never shared publicly or made searchable. Private fields — including date of birth — are used for verification only and never shown to other users. **A Judgment-Free Community** The QS Mentoring App is built on trust, empathy, and safety.
