“Timeline feature is now broken. The timeline feature used to accurately capture visits but sadly no longer does. Instead it just shows the searches for a place which is honestly the single most pointless feature”

“Not safe in its current state. Many problems over the past few weeks. Trying to take me the wrong way on one way roads, non existent turns, extreme lag, taking me to toll roads when the option for avoid tolls is checked. Incorrect eta; the only way to hit the time is to go 10-15 miles over the speed limit. Took me to a forest today which was supposed to be Lowe’s. Someone is going to pull a Michael Scott. Absolutely pathetic for 2026”

“Bring back the Mic!. The new Gemini integration has completely ruined voice search on CarPlay. What used to take one second now takes forever to load, and it constantly mishears simple, basic street names. I don’t want to have a slow, conversational chat with an AI while I’m trying to focus on the road—I just want to input a destination quickly and safely. This is a massive step backward for driver safety and convenience. Please give us the option to turn Gemini off and bring back the original, reliable microphone icon!”

“I’ve Switched to Apple Maps. I’d been a Google Maps user for years. I loved the extremely detailed voice guidance and the ability to control music within the app. It wasn’t perfect - my preferred route to work never came up automatically, no matter how many times I tried to save it - but it worked better than any other navigation app I’d used. Not anymore. Recently, Google Maps stopped resuming music properly after voice guidance. The music has always paused when voice guidance comes on, which is fine. In the past, it would automatically resume once the guidance ended. Now it doesn’t resume at all. I have to press the play button every single time the voice guidance ends. After every turn and every notification about something coming up. On my commute, that can mean pressing the play button 10 times or more. Having to repeatedly interact with my phone while driving is dangerous! I’ve switched to Apple Maps. It has detailed voice guidance, my preferred route comes up every time, and my music automatically resumes when the voice guidance ends.”
