Spend the hidden field once.
Exact duplicates, generic filler and words already in your title or subtitle are removed before your phrases are packed into Apple's 100 characters.

Packing only helps after relevance.
Start with customer language
Collect phrases that describe a concrete job, audience, feature or outcome, and put the ones you most need first. The optimizer keeps that order. It doesn't invent popularity data or quietly decide which phrase matters most.
Avoid visible duplication
Words already in the app name or subtitle usually don't need hidden keyword space. A candidate is left out only when all of its words are already visible, so every decision is easy to check and override.
Treat skipped terms as a queue
A phrase skipped for length isn't automatically weak. It belongs in another localization or a later test if real demand, difficulty and the apps that rank support it. Character efficiency can't replace market evidence.
Review before publishing
The output is compacted for you, but you stay responsible for relevance, trademarks, store policy, localization and whether each phrase describes your product accurately. Copy the field only after that review.
