“Change the UI back. The new UI update was unnecessary and now my eyes cannot quickly distinguish between a read and unread message. Plus, I’m not sure why they decided to waste space by adding a border along the edges. Please change it back”

“App was fine until 2 weeks ago, now it sucks. Gmail was fine for years, didn’t need any updates. Now, this AI inbox and minor changes in UI make me mad every time I open the app. Not to mention, when I select multiple emails and then click the trash can button to delete, it always opens up an advertisement. I know for a fact I’m not clicking on an ad, but I feel like this was programmed in to make up for falling ad clicks and subsequent revenue. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS.”

“Getting worse and worse. I have been complaining about Google products going downhill for the last decade, but my past reviews are not showing up anymore. Most recently, Gmail has added the most irrelevant, useless feature of a stupid blue dot on the right side of every email to mean “unread.” What is going on with every big tech company in the last decade??? Why do they keep pumping out this kind of garbage while paying people millions in salary???? But what was really bothering me so much to compel me to write another review is the horribly jarring page jump that happens every time you long press on an email. Have no idea why Google would design like this?????? I’ve accidentally clicked on the wrong email and deleted it because of this disastrous design. Now I have to be super careful and slow when selecting emails because Google keeps mass hiring and overpaying idiots??? Correction: this “jump” happens even when you quickly tap on the sender’s icon to select. So it happens every time you select an email, not only when you long press. Wtf??? To be more specific: the page jumps so that the email you just selected ends up misaligned and NOT underneath your finger if you long press, so you can’t quickly long press and select another email if you are selecting multiple emails because the page literally JUMPS because of the popup bar at the top and disorients you. A design flaw so obvious I have no idea what’s going on with Google’s “top” design team…?????”

“Horrid app. Between zoom logging me out and Gmail redirecting links to Safari, I was really late to a webinar. I will not join another that requires zoom. EDIT: they responded with telling me to enable opening weblinks in Gmail. I do not want to enable you data harvesting mini web browser. It's not a feature that any user would have asked for yet all you devs are doing it in every app. Why? So I can have the convenience of logging in to a site in my system browser AND some added bloat process in Gmail? Come on. I don't want anything butt Gmail. Not the stupid package shipments tracker. Not the AI junk. And not the browser within Gmail. I've turned all that off but you don't give a way for me to disable the stupid "security" redirect that's malforming the urls.”

“ABSOLUTELY NO PRIVACY. This is a protest against the latest update. There is absolutely no consent involved in letting my personal gmail emails be used for advertising and money. This should be illegal and feels like it violates our country’s pride. Don’t make me delete my gmail account. This is awful and sickening.”
