“Something's broken - iPad OneDrive not uploading to cloud. I'm a long-time user of OneDrive on PC and IOS. In attempting to upload some new files to OneDrive from my iPad, a handful got uploaded but many did not. Yes, I gave it plenty of time on a reliable WiFi connection plugged-into power. Yes, I verified file names are OK. Used to work fine, now it just stops. My frustration is that there is NO status info available (that I can find) that shows which files have been uploaded and which have not. It was not until I went to use those files on a PC that I discovered they had not made it. Very concerning, as this used to work well. At this moment, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this app on iPad as it's seriously broken. Update: 10/31/2026 Again, another OneDrive update and they broke the app again; now, any attempt to copy a file from OneDrive to my iPad gets corrupted and can not be opened on the iPad, AND can no longer be opened or used from OneDrive. Will someone at Microsoft PLEASE test basic functionality before releasing an update.”
“One useful feature, very poor UI. OneDrive has one very useful feature: on a desktop computer, it is smart about soft links (junctions on Windows). This means you can add a directory to your OneDrive without actually having to copy it under your OneDrive folder. The UI is amazingly poorly thought out and in no way resembles the workflow of normal usage. A trivial example (among many examples): the “On this day” in the past feature would be nice if only I didn’t have to choose my desired settings for it every time I used it.”
“OneDrive crashes often on files. The OneDrive causes the files app to crash very often. If you leave files in a OneDrive directory, leave the app, when you come back, you cannot change the directory because the app crashes when you select a directory not on OneDrive.”
“How can it be so difficult to backup photos???. Clunkiest and most confusing system to use to backup photos. Literally ridiculous. G-d I wish I didn’t have to use Microsoft.”
“So useless. Slow to sync and drops favorite off list. Importing from iPhone is so buggy and slow.”
“Vault won’t sync on mobile. My Vault only has half of my files. For some reason the rest of my files aren’t available through the mobile app, even though they are on web and desktop. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and removing all data from phone but the problem persists”
“Too many popups interrupting workflow. Microslop put more and more popups to interrupt my workflow even I subscribed. Won’t renew any more!”
“Personal Vault Issues. Absolutely insane to me that Personal Vault is unusable after the latest update, constant loops wanting to set a new pin and then even after you’ve set the pin for the 5th time, you still can’t view the items you put in it due to the viewer being broken. The whole point of a backup and personal vault is your stuff is secure and ACCESSIBLE, if you can’t get to it due to software issues what’s the point?”
“Beware! Massive data lost 700GB. Terrible service, I do not recommend it at all. I subscribed to the Premium plan trusting that my data would be secure, and it has been a total scam. After updating my laptop to Windows 11, OneDrive's automatic synchronization system glitched and sent my folders to the recycle bin. The worst part came when I tried using their official "Restore your OneDrive" tool to a safe date (October 18th). The system did the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do; it misinterpreted everything and instead of recovering my files, it drastically reduced my data from 192 GB to just 96 GB right in front of my eyes. It swallowed half of my information (a total of 700 GB of actual data lost) and left my folders completely empty or incomplete! To make matters worse, their so-called "premium technical support" is an absolute lie. They force you to chat with an incompetent, automated robot that is incapable of understanding your concerns, running you in circles only to finally give you the sole option of sending an email and sitting around for days waiting for a response that never comes. It is unacceptable for a multi-billion dollar company to destroy the information of paying customers and not have actual human staff to handle emergencies. I am canceling my subscription immediately. If you value your files and your peace of mind, stay away from this service.”
“Broken, with no customer support. Have been using microsoft 30+ years. I’m done now. 4 days of losing work and begging for help to no avail. Instead of spending billions on AI, spend at least a few dollars on customer support.”
